When I decided to train Khyssie myself I knew I would need assistance. Even though I planned to be there for every event in her life I wasn’t about to go into such a daunting task unprepared. And so, I read everything I could get my hands on, I watched every training video I could find, and I talked to every professional I trusted.
Naturally, every horse is unique and you have to take that into account. What may work for one horse might not work for another. But it sure doesn’t hurt to know everything you can learn about horses when you own one, even if it means (or especially if it means), understanding some things you see or hear about may not be in your horse’s best interest.
Be knowledgable, read, study, and learn. There are so many ways to do this now!
